Fig Leaves Hosiery Follow Up

Tuesday I posted about Fig Leaves brand hosiery and how their low prices presented a stock up opportunity for some rather fashionable hosiery.

Stocking Vixen correctly pointed out the lack of a size chart on their website for this brand. So I got in touch with Fig Leaves UK to find out about sizing, and within 3 hours, I had my answer:

Thank you for your email.
The sizing for the Figleaves Italian Hosiery is:

Small 4'9" - 5'1" Weight 95-110 lb

Medium 5'1" - 5'6" Weight 110-140 lb

Large 5'5" - 5'11" Weight 135-170 lb

Unfortunately when I have had a look at the packaging it does not state the size equivalent for the XLarge, I will contact the buying team and will email you once I have an answer.I hope this helps and will contact you again shortly.

Stock Up Opportunity

Many of you are probably familiar with the Fig Leaves website and its UK sister site which can be known to offer quality lingerie and hosiery at decent prices as well as often having some really good clearance sales.

What's more, is that they carry their own brand name hosiery made from Italian materials. They carry a decent range of stockings, tights, thigh highs, and fishnet, all pretty basic and good for everyday use. All of their hosiery is reasonably inexpensive as nothing in their current collection exceeds £14.00 (currently less than $20 with the suddenly stronger USD). Right now, however, its buy one get one free on all of their hosiery, so you can go nuts and stock up!

Please be aware of this caveat: this is not a review for any of their products. I have not personally tried Fig Leaves brand hosiery and thus cannot speak to the quality of their product. It does, however, seem like a good opportunity to stock up on hosiery from a retailer who sells brands with overall good quality.

Quick Public Service Announcement

It appeares the Fig Leaves UK Clearence page has been restocked. It's a good time to stock up on some basic tights from Falke, Jonathan Aston, and Charnos amoung many otheres at sometimes upwards of half off. From personal experience it's a good thing to shop quickly as many of the sizes and styles go fast.

Why Wait Until Tomorrow?

...When you can wear these lovely tights today? As some of you know, La Perla is one of my favorite brands of lingerie. With their styles and prices being what they are, its certainly not for every day wear. But when you want to look or feel special, there aren't too many better options than La Perla.

Interestingly, tights from La Perla are much more affordable. I was able to snag the Tomorrow 10 Tights from a hosiery clearance sale that was going on at Figleaves UK clearance page. I was able to get them, and others at a nice little discount. Luckily for you, they're still available...if you're a size 2.

These are sheer to waist tights, and they are incredibly soft. I can't even begin to describe how nice they feel when you're wearing them. They are a 66/30/4 blend of nylon, elastane, and cotton. As an extra added cute little touch, they have the La Perla logo across the waistband. As an extra not-so-nice touch, they come perfume scented. The scent is actually quite strong, and it took 3 or 4 hand washes before it was finally able to at least become more subtle. Initially, the scent isn't bad, but I can't imagine wearing it around for the whole day....even if I were the type to wear women's perfume around all day.

But getting past that, these are quite nice, and a great price at £4.05. If size 2 isn't your size, but you don't mind paying a bit more, you can get them here also for £12. I say go ahead and spring the extra money for them. You'll find the feel well worth it...even if you do have to wait through several washes to get a chance to find out.
