Tights Tuesday: Levante Bouquet Tights

When I first started blogging a few years back, I feel like I was reviewing products from Levante all of the time. They were certainly one of my go-to brands for some of the more fun fashion tights and stockings that you could buy. As I started to find more and more brands with the research I was doing for this blog, I've noticed that I don't wear Levante as much as I used to. Today I'm realizing that this is a bit of a mistake.

My UK Tights pick of the week this week is the Bouquet Tights, an absolutely stunningly gorgeous pair of tights from Levante. I don't know about you, but I've always felt like sheer white tights are probably the most tricky tights to get right. When done right, they look great, but if they miss the mark you end up looking like a nurse.

Not only are these tights perfectly done, but they are a must have for this spring and summer. They are lightweight, at 15 denier, and the white shade allows for these to be worn with a variety of bright spring/summer looks. The best part, though, is the gorgeous floral design that staggered throughout the legs, which is done over a dot pattern. These tights absolutely scream sunny summer day with a Sauvignon Blanc in my hand...Yes. I can actually taste it now.

These tights were made in Italy, with the quality you'd expect from there. They are made from a blend of 87% Polyamide, 11% Lycra Elastane, and 2%Cotton. These tights come in 3 sizes fitting heights between 4'11" and 6'1" very comfortably. They come in the Ivory color only.

These tights cost £10.00 (about $16USD). Look for this style to be copied virtually everywhere this summer. But for a price like this, why not just own the original? Now, if you'll excuse me, I feel like I should go plan a backyard brunch party or something. At least I know which tights to wear.

Tights Tuesday: MaxMara Gibus Tights

Pictured to the right are the Gibus Tights by MaxMara. In case you're reading one of my MaxMara reviews for the first time, I'd just like to reiterate, I love MaxMara. If I could only wear one brand of tights for the rest of my life, there's a pretty good chance they'd be MaxMara. That is why I couldn't be happier that they are this week's pick of the week from UK Tights, the only place to find MaxMara tights. I mean that, too. I walked into the MaxMara store a few blocks away from here, and they had a smaller selection of their own tights than UK Tights did. How can that happen? You're a MaxMara store!

The thing that sets MaxMara apart from just about anything else I've tried, is how soft they are. It's really difficult to find the words to describe exactly how soft they are. Just know that they feel positively amazing on the legs. I don't know what their secret is, but they just feel amazing from the second you put them on to whenever you take them off. This is the 4th or 5th different pair of tights I've tried from MaxMara, and that much never changes.

These tights are pretty sheer at 13 denier. They're sturdier than most 13 denier tights I've tried, but as with anything on the sheerer side, you're going to want to exercise caution when putting them on. Roll them up slowly and avoid tugging and pulling at all costs. It would even be worth it to moisturize your hands before handling them, or, if you have hosiery gloves, even better. All of this said, once their on, they actually fit snugger and do a better job staying in place than most of the sheerer tights I've tried. In addition, they have a comfort waistband that resists rolling and helps the tights stay in place all day long. I've tried tights in the 13 denier range from other brands and I've notice that I've had to pull them back up into place once or twice over the course of the day, I have not had this problem with the MaxMara tights.

These tights are perfect for just about any occasion. The sheerness of them helps keep the emphasis on the legs, rather than the tights, but there is a subtle shine that does help draw some attention. They're extremely lightweight which makes them a good alternative to bare legs, even as the weather starts to heat up (it WILL heat up at some point, right??).

The tights are sheer throughout, including the toe. They have flat seams and a cotton gusset. They are made from a blend of 88% nylon and 12% elastane. They come in 4 different sizes, fitting heights between 4'9" and 6'1" comfortably and they come in 4 different colors. At £10.40 (less than $17), they are a tremendous value as these really have the quality of luxury tights at a mid-range price. For the versatility of them, as well as their ability to last for many wears, with the proper care, these tights are an excellent buy.

Tights Tuesday: Kunert Mystique Tights

My tights review pick this week from UK Tights is the Kunert Mystique Tights. This is my second review of Kunert tights, and the thing that continues to strike me about their product is the quality. While Kunert does dabble, somewhat, in fashion tights with prints and effects, their real strength seems to be in their basic tights. A while back, I did an in-depth post where I compared their satin tights to that of Wolford. At the time, I couldn't believe how favorably they compared to Wolford at a much lower price point. Since then, I've worn their satin tights several times, and the quality continues to stand up wear after wear and (hand) wash after (hand) wash (you knew I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of hand washing, right?).

With the mystique tights, I have a feeling I'm going to be in the same kind of long-term relationship. The quality of these tights surpass the price point in much the same way the Satin Look tights do. If I were to go through the exercise of comparing these to Wolford the way I did with the Satin Look, I'd say these most resemble the Wolford Individual 20, which were the first tights I ever tried from Wolford way back when. Once again, the main difference is price. The Mystique 20 delivers every bit of look and quality and does so at slightly less than half the price of the Wolford counterparts. The premium you pay is for the Wolford name and for little else, as it turns out.

But enough about Wolford. The Mystique 20 tights are a perfect fit. They're fully boarded and designed to fit the curve of your legs and result and a fabulous, and extremely comfortable fit. These are going to feel every bit as good at the end of the day as they did in the beginning, no matter how long your day is. As always with a basic tight, they can be worn everywhere and can adapt to multiple occasions in the same day whether formal or casual. Because they fit so well, you won't have to worry about tugging at them or adjusting them as the day goes on. Trust me. These tights wont move. Getting all of this for a pair of tights at under £10 is an absolute steal. If you need basics, and you're going anywhere else, you're making a mistake. Trust me. I've tried 'em all :).

The Mystique 20 are made from a blend of 61% polyamide and 39% elastane. They are completely sheer throughout except for a shadow toe with flat seams. They are an incredibly soft and smooth fit. For a price of just £9.93 ($16), I can't recommend them enough.

Hudson Glamour Glossy Tights

Hi all. I'm back from my short break. Thanks for still reading while I was away. I can't wait to get caught up on all of my favorite blogs.

First, though, I can't wait to tell you all about this week's pick from UK Tights. I am absolutely loving the Hudson Glamour Glossy Tights, the first pair I've ever tried from Hudson. These are yet another pair of great looking, great feeling tights at an unbelievable price.

I can honestly say, that few tights I've owned fit as well as these do. That certainly has a lot to do with the comfort waistband that they have at the top of the tights. I you're someone that ever finds yourself struggling with tights that roll or slide down over the course of the day, or dig in to you as time goes by, you need to try these tights. You'll pull them up once, and they'll stay in place all day, without digging in uncomfortably anywhere. I can honestly say that these tights do that better than any I have ever tried. ...and you know how many I've tried.

In addition, these tights feel very smooth and comfortable on the legs. They also give off a nice sheen that is eye-catching, but never overpowering. These tights honestly look and feel perfect. If there is a downside to them, I haven't figured out what it is yet.

The tights are sheer to waist and and have a transparent reinforced toe with flat seams. They are sheer at 20 denier. They are made from a blend of 87% nylon and 13% lycra. That's actually a little lower than average lycra count for tights these days. As such, you're going to want to take a little extra care pulling them on, as they may not have the kind of stretch and give you are used to. But they are constructed to fit the shape of the leg and will still give a fabulous and comfortable fit.

Once again, though, the best part is the price. You can get a hold of these fabulous tights for a mere £6.75 (less than $11). Believe me. This is an absolute steal. You're gonna want to give these a try!

Tights Tuesday: Oroblu Priscilla Tights

This week's pick from UK Tights is another pair of fashion tights from Oroblu. Suddenly, it seems, I can't get enough Oroblu. Every pair of tights I've tried from this brand feels amazing, and I'm loving all of the different designs of their fashion tights.

The Oroblu Priscilla Tights are certainly no exception. I can't think of any other tights I've seen with this type of design. It starts with a sheer to waist black style. As is apparently always the case with Oroblu, the tights are incredibly soft, comfortable and smooth. They feel like a luxury brand.

On top of that is a gorgeous floral lace panty effect. It's kind of done in a boy short type style, so the bottom of the effect cuts straight across the high-thigh area. The pattern is then repeated below the knee and above the ankle on both legs. It's almost like a knee-high effect, except the foot is completely sheer. The detail is very intricate and gorgeous. I pretty much fell in love with these tights immediately. What I also love about them, is that you can wear them with shoes to show off the detail or you could wear them with boots and they could look like just plain black tights. So you can get a few different looks from them.

The tights are sheer at 20 denier and have a completely sheer toe. They are made from a blend of 89% nylon and 11% elastane. The tights have flat seams, are not boarded, and have a cotton gusset. They come in black only and are available in 3 different sizes, comfortably fitting heights between 4'9" and 5'11". These tights cost £13.95 (about $22.50). These tights compare very favorably to Wolford, although I imagine you'd pay twice as much for a similar style from Wolford. As always, I'm very, very impressed with the quality and feel of Oroblu...and quite pleasantly surprised by the price.

For a while there, I was all about the stocking-effect tights. Everything I profiled and reviewed seemed to have an effect of some sort. I've recently noticed, however, that its been a while since I've tried anything like that. Shame on me.

I'm pretty sure I've sworn on these pages, more than once, that nobody does the stocking effect like Wolford. Can I take that back? Do you mind if I take that back? Of course I can take that back...it's my blog. Hell, I can delete it and pretend it never happened.

Truth be told, if the stocking effect has become a trademark of any tights designer, it's, without a doubt, Trasparenze. In fact, I could sit here and tell you that the Italians just do it better than the Austrians, but I...actually, yeah...that's what I'm going to tell you :). Exhibit A, the Becky Mock Stocking Backseamed Tights, from UK Tights.

Where to begin? The tights are done with a black on cosmetic look. The detail of the garter belt starts right at the waist and descends down into a lacy g-string effect with lots of detail in the front. 4 garter straps connect to the stocking which also has a stunning lace detail at the top. From there, the back-seam takes over. But even that couldn't be plainly done. Instead, the back-seam descends down the back of the leg, and the middle of the foot, with a continuous bow-like pattern, that matches the garter-belt straps. If there is a sexier pair of tights on the market right now, I can't think of what it is. These tights are absolute jaw-droppers. You really need to try these yourself to understand how great they look and feel.

The tights are sheer throughout with a matte finish. They are made from a blend of 85% nylon and 15% elastane. They are sheer at 20 denier, but also perfectly durable. They also come in 4 sizes and can fit heights anywhere between 4'9" and 6'1". These are among the best fitting and feeling tights I own. They were an instant favorite of mine.

For the feel, comfort, and look, as well as the quality that can be expected from Trasparenze, these tights are an absolute steal at £11.45 (less than $19). You can go ahead and pay twice as much for Wolford, if you want, but the truth is you'll be throwing your money away. Rather, go ahead and buy two of these.

Tights Tuesday: MaxMara Diana Tights

As if 'Tights Tuesday' hadn't already long since become my favorite day of the week, today is a little extra special. That's right, I broke the glass and took out the MaxMara tights...and it wasn't even a case of emergency. Who knows? Maybe I made an emotional breakthrough.

For those of you reading the paragraph above with a (more) confused (than usual) look on your face, I'm still dealing with the residual (figurative) scarring of a time in my life when I thought I'd never again wear MaxMara tights. It's okay. I'm better now. Thanks, in no small part, to UK Tights, who brought MaxMara back into my life...and not a moment too soon.

So...the tights of the day, are the MaxMara Diana Tights. They are an absolutely gorgeous pair of sheer tights with a small hoop pattern throughout. I was absolutely in love with them the minute I saw them, and even more so now that I am wearing them. I'm serious, you've got to try MaxMara tights. You will love them as much as I do. These tights are sooo soft and comfortable and just feel great to wear. The pattern is done perfectly and allows for these tights to be worn for a variety of occasions from office wear to more casual looks. They are a perfect alternative to the plain sheer tights.

These tights are sheer to waist and made from a blend of 88% polyamide and 12% elastane with a cotton gusset. They are pretty sheer at 15 denier. They are limited availability at this point but definitely worth checking out (as well as any other similar MaxMara styles). It's a moderately priced brand (these tights in particular are £22.95, or $37) but they are feel every bit as good and are every bit as stylish as Wolford, at a much smaller price tag. They are not to be missed (trust me on that one). I'm sure you'll love them every bit as much as I do.

Tights Tuesday: Couture Sheer Shine

...aaaaaand I'm back. I missed you all. Thank you so much for the sweet comments while I was away. I also really missed trying new stuff and doing some reviews, so I'm glad I get to kick things back off with a review...and a good one at that!

Sheer shine tights are at the top of the list of my favorite things...tights. There is something undeniably attractive about a sheer sheen on a pair of legs. Unfortunately it is among the more difficult pairs of tights to find at an affordable price. While you certainly don't have to pay Wolford prices, it seems that even the discount brands charge a premium for a good level of shine.

That is where Couture comes in. Their Sheer Shine tights, my pick of the week from the always awesome UK Tights, are basic, and their product line is certainly limited, but, if you're looking for a shiny tight at a reasonable (read: under $15) price, they should be your go-to brand. The tights are sheer throughout and, while not as soft as a Kunert, for example, they are very smooth and comfortable on the legs. The shine that comes off these tights are absolutely perfect. It is certainly noticeable, but not so strong that it has little use beyond the holiday party. Rather, if you like the subtle, but catching, shine in your every day wardrobe, these are just perfect.

The tights are made from a blend of 86% nylon, 12% lycra, and 2% cotton. They are quite sheer at 15 denier, but still very durable and should last for several wears at least. They are sheer throughout and also have a comfort waistband and nearly invisible reinforced toe, that includes hand finished flat seams. They are available in 4 sizes fitting heights anywhere between 4'11" and 5'11". Currently, they come in two different colors, cocoa and smoke. At £8.95 ($14.53) there's no telling how long even these two colors will last...so it may be wise to grab a pair (or three) today.

I'm glad I did.

Tights Tuesday: Couture Sheer 15

My pick to review from UK Tights this week is the Couture Sheer 15 Tights. This was my first time trying out a product from Couture, a relatively new name in the hosiery industry.

Couture only features a couple of different types of sheer tights which are all reasonably priced. The 15 denier tights are smooth, comfortable, and well constructed. Their purpose is to add a touch of elegance to the leg, which they do a good job of, with a subtle shine and a very smooth appearance.

They are constructed from high-quality lycra covered yarn and, as such, are a bit more durable than the average 15 denier tights. The high-quality lycra also lends itself to a comfortable, perfect fit to the wearer. Once again, these tights have surprising quality considering their price point.

The tights are sheer throughout and made from a blend of 84% nylon, 14% lycra, and 2% cotton. They have a comfort waistband and hand-finished flat seams. They are also fully boarded with a sheer reinforced toe.

They come in 4 different sizes, but are currently only available in the 'Smoke' color, which is actually a great look if you want something a little more subtle than black in your collection. They are perfect tights for any occasion. At a cost of £8.95 (about $14USD) they are definitely worth giving a look to. I'm glad I did.

Tights Tuesday: Oroblu....Part 2

I'm sure you've noticed the new layout of my blog. If you have a second, and you wouldn't mind, I dropped a poll, about this layout. So far, it seems to be a mixed bag of like and dislike, so I'd definitely love to hear everyone's opinion.

Also, I apologize to the three individuals (so far) I gave a headache to. It certainly wasn't my intention...

You might remember a week ago, my pick from UK Tights to review was the Oroblu Couture Tresor 10 Tights. At the time, I stated that I actually like these tights better than the comparable alternatives from Wolford and Falke, among others, despite the much more reasonable price tag.

This week I'm back to review the 20 denier version of the same tights. This is exciting to me because 20 is usually my denier count of choice because I like the balance of sheerness and durability at that count. In fact, I generally credit the Wolford Individual 20 tights for originally making me into the tights addict that I am now, way back in the day.

The Couture Tresor 20 Tights feel every bit as luxurious as the 10s. The softness and smoothness on the legs are seldom matched and never exceeded by any of the tights I've ever tried...and I've tried a lot, as you know. They also look great on the legs. While less transparent than the 10s, they still remain quite sheer and give off a very subtle shine, as well. These tights are a must-have and will be put to good use as they stand up to any occasion, regardless of how formal or casual it might be. And trust me, you will instantly fall in love with these and want to wear them as much as possible.

These tights have a slightly higher nylon count than the 10 denier. They're actually an 85/15 blend of nylon and lycra. They come in 4 different colors and 5 different sizes, so you're pretty much guaranteed to find your perfect look and fit. Just to review, they're sheer to waist, boxed, have flat seams, cotton gusset and a signature waistband.

I just can't say enough good things about these tights. I wish I could buy a pair for everyone who reads this because I know you'd all instantly fall in love with them. Take it from someone who's tried a lot of tights, few, if any, feel and look this good. They really are a must have.

Tights Tuesday: Oroblu Gets More Luxurious?

I was shocked when I realized that it had been over a year since I've reviewed tights from Oroblu. I certainly think of them as one of my favorite brands but somehow they've slipped through the cracks recently. I'm glad to have finally gotten the chance to give them a try and report back to you.

Oroblu makes a staggering variety of tights in different patterns, colors, and sheer-ness. The common thread (if you will) that I've noticed among the different ones that I've tried, however, is the quality. On the one hand, it's probably not surprising, as the quality out of Italy is in a league of its own, and often times, I find myself thinking that I'm wearing a much more expensive pair of tights than I really am when I'm wearing Italian-made. On the other hand, Oroblu may be taking things to a different level, even within their own country, when it comes to quality.

There may be no better example than the Oroblu Couture Tresor 10 Tights, my pick this week from UK Tights. The 'Couture' collection is intended to be the luxury line within a brand name that wasn't exactly short on luxury to begin with. But, again, as I find myself saying a lot, the luxury is in the details. It starts, in fact, before you even remove the tights from the package. In place of the standard envelope-like packaging that tights almost always come in, is a tailored box. It's supposed to give a gift-like feel to the tights, but I think it also adds a level of value to the tights, as in, these aren't just your ordinary tights you're getting into right now.

So do the tights stand up to the packaging?

The '10' in the name of the tights stands for the denier count. I've tried 10 denier tights in a number of luxury brands, such as Falke and Wolford and have come away with the same feeling every time: that these tights were a bit too on the delicate side and needed to be treated as such. Often times, as the day goes along, those tights would sag down and wrinkle a bit on the leg, mainly, I think, because I had to be so careful putting them on and tugging them up. I had really begun to think that 10 denier tights just weren't for me.

The Couture Tresor 10 are just the opposite. They look sheer and yet feel very durable. The stay super-smooth on the leg and don't bunch up anywhere. They also keep their shape and don't stretch out (a problem I've had with 10 denier in the past). This is all due to 'double covered' yarns that Oroblu uses in the manufacture of these tights, which result in the added shape and durability.

These tights also possess added little details such as a signature waistband and a boxed design. The signature waistband might seem insignificant, in a way, but when you own as many tights as I do, being able to quickly identify a pair is a very nice addition.

The tights are sheer to waist and have a cotton gusset. They are a blend of 75% nylon and 25% lycra. They come in 4 different sizes so you should find a comfortable fit if you're anywhere from 4'9" to 6'1". The come in three different colors: black, blue-chic, and cosmetic. They cost £16.27 ($25).

Similar tights from Wolford will cost you about $10 more. Similar tights from Falke will cost you about $8 more. I hope what I say next wont cause the hosiery gods to strike me down (there are such gods, didn't you know?). If all three pairs of tights had the exact same price, I'd recommend the Oroblu. That's right...the exact same price. I honestly find these tights to be more comfortable, smooth, and durable and, thus, longer lasting. The money you save from buying Oroblu is just an added bonus.

Tights Tuesday: MaxMara Calypso Tights

This week's pick from UK Tights comes from one of my very favorite brands: MaxMara. MaxMara makes some of the most comfortable tights that you will ever find, and inadvertently, I picked the exact pair to really drive that point home. The MaxMara Calypso tights have the appearance of your basic semi-sheer tights with no bells or whistles. Instead, they have a tulle texture to them. What this means, is that they actually have a micro, micro, micro (really...that micro) net effect to them. You have to get really close to tell, but these tights actually have a sort of textured appearance to them, but again, it's as subtle as you can get.

Honestly, at first I was unhappy about this. Upon taking them out of the package, they felt almost kind of rough in my hands. I expected them to feel rough on my legs and perhaps, as they stretched to fit, look more like a fishnet than a sheer tight.

I could not have been more wrong. These tights feel smooth on my legs and are oh so comfortable. In addition, the tulle texture can catch the light a certain way and create a sort of shine to these tights. It's really an unusual and innovative design, but I like it a lot. These turned out to be among the better looking sheer tights that I own, and they remain very, very comfortable.

Despite the delicate looking texture of these tights, they are quite durable. At 30 denier, they have a sheerness to them, but they're not super-sheer. They're sheer to waist tights, with a comfort waistband which is very comfortable.

They are made in Italy from a blend of 85% nylon and 15% elastane. They're made to give a sophisticated and elegant look to the leg and the hit the mark completely.

They come in 4 different sizes and should fit anyone from 4'9" to 6'1" comfortably. They come in 3 different colors. I ordered them in playa(kind of a sand tone, I suppose) but would love to see how these look in nero (black) with their texture and shine.

These tights cost £14.58 ($23.15). These are not the most inexpensive tights in the world, but for their quality, they're actually quite competitively priced. Their unique enough that it is certainly worth owning at least one pair.

Tights Tuesday: Kunert Satin Look 20

My pick for review this week from UK Tights is a basic pair of tights with a twist. For all the tights I've tried over the last several years, this is my first experience with Kunert. Kunert is based out of Germany and produces moderately priced hosiery. The thing that immediately stuck out to me the most about these tights is the quality, particularly given the price points. Without even wearing these, you'll immediately notice that these look like expensive tights. Kunert markets the fact that they use high quality materials and it is immediately noticeable upon wearing their products. In addition to looking great these are among the softest and smoothest tights I've ever tried. Wearing these, its hard to justify spending two or three times as much to wear other brands.

In particular, I liked the Satin Look 20 tights. I'm personally partial to tights around the 20 denier range. They maintain a sheer look on the legs, but they feel sturdier and fit more comfortably then some of the ultra-sheer tights. I also very much love the satin look. These tights give a more than subtle but much less than overpowering shine to the leg. It's perfect for a night out but also completely appropriate for office or even more casual wear. The shine creates quite an attractive, inviting look without hitting the observer over the head. Its perfect.

In addition, these tights are made with a touch of Aloe Vera to keep the legs moisturized. They're perfect for me for a day like today when the upcoming snowstorm has brought arctic-like weather to New England. There is a flat seam across the toe and a "shadow" reinforcement on the toe that would be somewhat noticeable if these were worn with open-toed shoes. But it could be done without looking tacky. Otherwise, they are sheer throughout and are fully boarded. Fully boarded means that the tights, when not being worn, already have a shape of a foot to them. This is typical to higher quality hosiery as it aids a more comfortable and more accurate fit to the wearer as the heel fits more snugly into the foot of the hose.

The tights are made from 85% polyamide and 15% elastane. They come in a staggering 6 different sizes and 5 different shades and are versatile enough to fit a variety of body types. These tights are an absolute steal at £9.13 (about $14). They'd still be a good value if Kunert charged twice as much (but don't tell them I said so ;-) ). Honestly, if you're the type of person that hardly every buys or wears tights, invest in these. They may be all you ever need. They may even convert you into a Tights Lover, yourself...

Tights Tuesday: Pierre Mantoux Lorine Mock Stocking Tights

Let's keep the tights reviews going, shall we?

If you haven't ventured over to my friends at UK Tights yet this new year (and why haven't you?), you are missing out on literally dozens of new styles of tights. Amazingly, new looks just continue to roll in.

None may look quite as nice as the Pierre Mantoux Lorine Mock Stocking Tights, however. If you are a regular reader of this blog, you are most likely already well aware of my love for the mock-stocking look. When done right, its hard to make tights look any sexier.

And trust me, these are done right.

Recently, it seems like the envelope just continues to be pushed when it comes to mock stocking tights. With many different designers contributing their take on the style, I often find myself thinking that it would be hard to expand upon the look any further. Leave it to Pierre Mantoux to set me straight.

These tights are done with the illusion of a peacock floral net-type design. The generous floral design starts at the toe and extends up to the high-thigh area. From there, four thin garter straps connect the stocking to the panty (illusion). The panty is a high leg design but is there more for look than to create any control. In other words, the tights feel like sheer tights, even though they have a panty-effect look. These tights could be worn with a variety of looks. With a longer skirt they can be worn to look just like floral tights. If you're feeling a little extra cheeky, however, you can pair them with a shorter skirt and risk giving the unassuming onlooker a peek at your 'stocking tops'.

They are also very high quality as they are made in Italy with only the finest materials. You'll definitely want to go the extra mile while caring for these to ensure they last for many wears.

The tights are made from 86% polyamide and 14% elastane. They have a generous amount of stretch and can fit a variety of shapes and sizes without the print being distorted whatsoever. They are also quite durable, considering the delicate design. In addition, they come in 4 different sizes. No matter how long or short your legs may be, Pierre Mantoux will have a size for you. They cost £25.95 (about $40.26) but they are worth every penny. A design like this from Wolford would probably cost twice this much. I certainly hope you check them out.

Tights Tuesday: Tiffany Quinn MacKenzie Tartan Tights Review

A review? Could it really be?

I hope everyone had a great holiday, and a nice weekend. I have successfully managed to dig myself out from beneath the snow mound I had been under since sometime Sunday afternoon. Good times.

I realize it's been forever since I've actually spoken from experience when profiling any of the products that have hit this blog of late. I have to admit there's been more washing and re-wearing than buying going on these days.

But here is a product worth getting excited about for a variety of reasons. I've said this a few times before, but I really have to thank my friends at UK Tights for their seemingly endless range of products on their website. As is often the case, they are the only site I know of that carries Tiffany Quinn. Tiffany Quinn is a new name to me. I've always enjoyed the use of color and patterns that Tiffany Quinn is known for, but I'd yet to actually experience the product first-hand. Knowing what I do now, it won't be the last.

The tartan tights come in an almost endless assortment of color combinations. I opted for the black and yellow pictured here. I like the black and yellow because, together, I almost feel like they combine to create a brown or beige-ish color. As you can see from the picture, they go well with black, but they would really go well with just about any color you might want to wear with them. I always appreciate when tights can have a unique pattern and yet still remain versatile. I've been seeing this pattern around more and more lately, but Tiffany Quinn may just be doing it better than anybody.

For someone like me, who always gravitates towards the sheer-er tights, these tights are also great for a day I am having like today where there is (lots) of snow on the ground and the temperatures are well below freezing. They are 40 denier, so they are a tiny bit sheer, but they are opaque enough to keep my legs warm on a day where most of the rest of my body is freezing. They are also among the softest feeling tights I've tried and they have a good amount of stretch and durability, and yet still retain their pattern well.

These tights are one size, which can sometimes be a red flag for me as my legs are longer and somewhat athletic from all of the running I do. Fortunately these fit quite comfortably. The UK Tights website provides a size chart which states that these tights would fit up to dress size 16. I would imagine that this would be the case. I'm 5'10" and these might even be able to fit someone slightly taller than myself. When I took them out of the package I was surprised to see that they don't have a waistband. Despite this, however, they fit comfortably and stay in place all day long. I've mentioned it already, but they really do feel great.

The tights are made of 94% nylon and 6% elastane. Perhaps the best part about them, is the price tag. At £5.95 ($9.17 USD) a pair, you really can get as many different colors as you want.

I may be heading back to get more, myself.

Tights Tuesday: Trasparenze

Trasparenze does not do subtlety well. In fact, they are quite bad at it.

Which is just fine with me.

I'm a big fan of sheer tights with a little something extra. Be it a simple pattern or an illusion of a hold up or garter and stocking, I love the extra effects on the legs. Trasparenze always takes that to a different level than just about any other designer. There is always something unique, fun, and of course sexy about their leg wear.
