Foxtel has commissioned a new reality show which will firmly place the spotlight on five ACP Magazine titles.
The ten episode series, which will be called Park Street (named after the long-time street address of ACP's offices at 54-58 Park Street Sydney) will showcase the processes involved in the operation of Cleo, Cosmopolitan, Dolly, Madison and Shop Til You Drop magazines.
Brian Walsh, Foxtel's executive director of television and marketing, confirmed the new show to The Sunday Telegraph.
Brian Walsh, Foxtel's executive director of television and marketing, confirmed the new show to The Sunday Telegraph.
"It will focus on editors, primarily, and the conflicts they have within their own group in competing for the covers and stories and the gossip that goes into making those magazines what they are," Walsh said.
"There has been a lot of discussion between Foxtel and ACP about the tonality of the show - I wasn't interested in an advertorial; it had to be gripping television.
"I think that is what will be produced, although there will be a touch of Real Housewives about it."
The series, which will premiere in early 2011, is produced by Vokyo Entertainment in conjunction with the pay-TV provider.
ACP Magazines' general manager, media, public affairs and brand development Deborah Thomas, told Prue Corlette from AdNews: "We are already talking to advertisers, adding that an official announcement would be made "in the next couple of days."
For this magazine junkie, this is TV nirvana. I really cannot wait.
