Gardening and kids. Cooking and kids. Two tasks where mess and mayhem is a given. Why not let little hands make mess - and learn - at someone's else's joint?
The Sydney Gardening Australia Expo - on this Friday August 20 through to Sunday August 22, from 10am to 4.30pm daily at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse - will feature activities for the entire family of gardening aficionados as well as free potting classes for all kids.
While all the usual green and leafy fare for adults will be there, 'Twigz' will be offering every child visiting the Expo the opportunity to get their hands dirty and 'pot up' their very own plant using the Twigz gardening tool range designed for tiny hands. After entry, this is a free activity teaching children the correct way to plant and water their plants. They can choose from either sunflowers or snowpeas to plant in a bio-degradable jiffy pot which they then take home and watch blossom. Cuuute! Wish my twins were older - I'd definitely take them. The kids can get downright dirty and involved in the Twigz Lil Green Thumb Gardening area which will be closely supervised by the Twigz expert team.
The gardening activity will run each day for the duration of opening hours - no need to book a time as the classes are running all day; just go to stand X12 at the Expo. There will also be special one off make 'n' take activities available where kids can enjoy making a sock seed man or scarecrow.
