This group is what I consider the best of the best for Wolford tights this season. These are certainly at the very top of my wish list. In particular, I am drooling over the final two pairs of tights in this post...but make no mistake, I want them all.
Let's start with the Maja tights. These are done in a smart looking pinstripe pattern. Pinstripe is beginning to look like its going to be huge this season, count me as being on board with that! The website says these make that "charming business statement". These certainly make a statement. I wouldn't mind seeing more tights like these out in the business world. That might make the 9 to 5 a bit happier!
The pinstripe pattern starts at the waist and extends down to the foot. At the mid thigh area is a floral pattern which makes for the stay up effect, that is always very popular at Wolford. According to the website, the floral pattern is repeated at the toe. Alas, there is no picture of that, quite sadly. I really would like to see how that looks.
The Maja tights are 88% nylon and 12% elastane. These tights have a soft waistband. They are 20 denier. They are still not available, but when they are they will retail for £27.00 ($44).
These next two rank 1 and 1A on my list...I can't really decide which one I lust after more...
First, the Zora Tights. Just recently we've seen stay up effects, stocking effects, knee high effects....but how about "boot effects"? This is a new one as far as I know. The tights are sheer black from the soft waistband to the knee. Below the knee, the boot effect begins. The tight is a darker black from the knee through the toe, but, in addition, the effect even includes an opening down the middle and lace effects.
Is this gimmicky? Perhaps. While I've discussed how many of these tights have a variety of uses, these particular ones probably require a bit more imagination. However, it's well worth the extra effort, because these look GREAT. There are few things sexier than a black tight and boot combination, to begin with. When you're wearing these, the boots stay on...even when they come off!
These tights are 89% nylon and 11 % elastane. The tights are 20 denier. Upon release, they'll cost £29.00 ($47). I'm dying to get these. What do you think?
Think we're out of "effects" at this point? Not quite. We still have the "legging effect" to take a look at. Having already gone on record as saying I'm not a big fan of leggings, does it make sense that these tights are at the top of my list? Perhaps not. But I am a big big fan of the nylon foot, and these tights give you leggings while still allowing your foot to be covered in lovely, lovely nylon. It's hard to argue with that, especially when you see how nice these are.
The Luna tights start out with black tights at the soft waistband. They are sheer throughout down through the knee to just above the ankle. There, the black part of the tights end in a legging effect, but not before the lace detail kicks in. From about halfway between the knee and the ankle some lovely lace designs begin. They continue down to the bottom of the legging, just above the ankle. At the bottom of the legging is some more lace detail, creating a trim just as the legging ends. Finally, below this is sheer nylon in a beige color. These tights are simply gorgeous.
They are 57% polyester, 35% nylon, and 8% elastane. The legging is 35 denier and the ankle and foot is 20 denier. These tights will cost £32.00 ($52)...time to start setting some money aside, I think.
