So now that it's time to get on top of the nylons trend, where is it best to begin? I guess the all-to-simple answer is, 'it depends on what one is looking for'. You can spend anywhere from about $5 a pair to upwards of $100. You can get pantyhose, thigh-his, garters and stockings or even knee-his. You can get nude, tan, black, white, or just about any other color. You can get sheer-to-waist, control-top, lace-top, back-seam, reinforced heal and toe, fishnet, textured,....you get the picture, the list goes on forever.
The first logical place to look would seem to be Victoria's Secret. Hey, while you're scoring that great new bra and panty set, why not just add a pair of thigh-his to polish off the look? Well, yeah, of course you can do that. But it is surprisingly probably not the best option. Sadly, nylons have become a bit of an afterthought at this store. As a matter of fact, if you're looking for plain old sheer nylons, with no texture, lace, or back seam, you're probably out of luck there. It's strange. A few years ago, I remember getting a coupon in the mail to come try out the new Body by Victoria pantyhose three-pack. They gave three different levels of control and shaping, and by doing so, gave the pantyhose novice a pretty good place to start in terms of finding out what worked best. These days, if you're looking for something basic, you may want to look somewhere else.
The disconnect between lingerie and hosiery isn't limited to just Victoria's Secret. Often times, department stores display lingerie and hosiery in completely different places. But the advantage of department stores is that they offer a variety of different brand names which tend to offer a lot of different styles. Most of these brand names offer a discount if you buy multiple pairs, so you can buy a few different styles and find out which works best. Once you find the best fit/style you can hit the premium brand name store and really spoil yourself, like I recently have...
