Burlesque and Retro Lingerie

It's been a while since I profiled anything from Babygirl Boutique. It's one of my go-to websites for some of the sexier pin-up styles in lingerie. Over the last couple of years, I've bought and reviewed a few different lingerie items from here, and I've never been disappointed.

Babygirl has just released a couple of interesting burlesque and retro looks, made by Leg Avenue. I've always been lukewarm towards Leg Avenue. They definitely make some of the more sexy and unique pieces of leg wear and lingerie, but the fit and quality can occasionally be lacking. That said, I think they've done an excellent job capturing the classic Burlesque and retro styles in these two looks:

New Babygirl Pinup

The latest from Babygirl Boutique is a good one. It is a two-piece Burlesque Femme Fatale set, modeled here by the gorgeous Bernie Dexter.

It includes a high waist girdle made of mesh and satin and a g-string to be worn underneath. As you can probably see from the pictures, it is pretty see-through, throughout, other than a satin panel in the front. It also has a big red satin bow that hangs across the back of the garment. At $34.95 it seems to be a pretty reasonably priced way to spice up your bedroom wear!



Also available from the boutique are the stockings ($7.95), bra ($34.95), and robe ($29.95) seen in the photo.

What's Not to Like?

Gorgeous model. Frilly lingerie. Cherry print. It's all there.

This is the 2 Piece Black Cherry Print Teddy Dress from Babygirl Boutique. It is sexy, flirty, and fun all at the same time. The top and the skirt are connected by a strip down the center of the front. Also down the front is a zipper which, I imagine, makes it helpful to get in (and more importantly out?) of this thing.

The skirt is absolutely lovely with some lace detail underneath and a lovely bow on the back. This piece comes with a matching g-string as well.

This is available in sizes small, medium, and large. It costs $49.95.

I get the impression that this wouldn't be the longest lasting undergarment in the world. But for a few nights of fun and flirtiness, it could just be worth the price.

Back to Babygirl

It's been a while since I've bought anything from (or posted about) Babygirl Boutique. Ah for the good old days of "pinup panty Tuesdays". Initially I bought quite a few of their pinup panties, primarily from their Lucy B line. I still like them all and wear them quite often (not just Tuesdays!). On the other hand, they didn't seem to be turning over their inventory all that quickly. Everytime I checked them out, the collection seemed the same. Granted, there's a lot more to this store than just pinup panties, but that is where my personal interest was, when it came to shopping there.

Well, it may be time for me to pay them a visit, because they've finally brought something new to their pinup panty line, and I'm quite impressed with it. It's the Lucy B. Lingerie Sheer Black 1950s Style Power Net Pinup Panty. This is exactly what I've been looking for. I love sheer, I love full coverage, and I especially love power net. I'm am dying to get a look and feel of these panties.

As you can see, it comes with a matching bra as well. I'm also very intrigued by the bra, but since it only comes in small and medium, and costs $60 I'll probably have to pass.

The panties come in large and cost $24. That is much more tempting. It may be getting to be that time to bring pin up panty day back...

I'm looking for something new to try, and I feel like I'm constantly on the same websites, buying the same types of things. One of my favorite things to do on this blog is buy something new, try it on, wear it around for the day, and give some sort of review on it. But I probably get a bit redundant from time to time (Wolford tights come to mind).

I'm not really sure right now if I'll pick one or if I'll try them all, but I will see how this works out the first time around.
