Rachel Zoe: Bananas!

Thursday, November 11, 2010

Did you watch The Rachel Zoe Project last week?

Ready for ep two tonight on Foxtel's Arena Channel?

If you're not up to speed on Ms Zoe, here is all you need to know:

Her vocab consists of annoyingly infectious catchphrases including:

"Ba-nanas!"

"Shut it down."

"I die."

"Major."

"Beyond major."

"Shut up right now."

"Like, literally..."

"Totally rocking it."

So, how does someone with the type of chatter you'd expect from a youngster command so much attention... and her own reality show, three seasons in?

Why, she is a stylist to the stars. Not just any stylist... the stylista extraordinaire, turning stars into mega-watt celebrities, all through the power of choosing the right outfit.

Thanks to Rachel Zoe, Cameron Diaz and Demi Moore and Keira Knightley have garnered more column inches post-awards than many of the stars put together. And Nicole Ritchie... well, she completely turned her from a woman struggling to find her fashion mojo to one now renowned for her classic fashion sense.

Said to be pregnant with her first child to devoted husband Roger, this season's eps have been plagued with 'controversy,' after the departure of her long-time (shitty-as) assistant, Taylor Jacobson from the Zoe camp.

For her part, Zoe said; "You will see what actually happened. It was just another situation in my career and my life where I got stabbed in the back. I was betrayed and it was time to get the negative energy out.”

So the deliciously camp Brad steps up, bow-tied and be-spected, and is promoted to the newly created role of Style Director, while hubby Roger officially joins the Zoe camp as Rachel’s business partner.

Toting a giant Starbucks, Rachel still pulls as many fabulous fashion pieces and high powered stars, and this season sees appearances from Gwen Stefani, Molly Sims, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Hudson and Naomi Campbell, to name just a few.

Must watch telly for fashion addicts.

The Rachel Zoe Project screens Wednesdays 8.30pm on Arena.
