Robb & Lulu: watch this label

How hot is this label Robb & Lulu?

The Australian fashion brand (founded in Melbourne, being re-launched in Oz, and launching in the US) is already established though now, in addition to its custom designed singlets and tees, one half of the brand - Lulu McDermott - is returning to her roots and expanding the brand to include swimwear, scarfs and underwear... see this shot, exclusive to Josie's Juice.

The re-launch includes a revamped http://www.robbandlulu.com/ site, and you can now follow the fashion folks at www.twitter.com/robbandlulu and www.facebook.com/robbandlulu

The Robb and Lulu story evolved when Lulu McDermott and her partner Robert A Zagame came together to explore the fashion and deliver style and innovation through their shared passion for colour, art and design. Lulu has been an avid artist since she was a bub - at four she created her first piece on the sewing machine, and by 17 she began her first fashion label, with identical twin sister Sophia, inspired by their gymnastics career. The label was called ‘Savage Sisters’. Since then, Lulu’s love affair with lycra has evolved from gymwear, to swimwear with her bikini label Luminessence by Lulu selling internationally. Most recently Lulu has concentrated on her talents as an artist and fashion illustrator with her work being commissioned by SAX cosmetics, G-star, RAW, and Kookai.

Robert Zagame is also a person of many talents. Working in the family hospitality business never stood in his way to pursue his passion of designer women’s fashion. Starting at just 16, Robert entered his hand-beaded creations into the ‘Gown Of The Year’ comp and was selected as a finalist. Now heading the brand 'Zagame’s' with his brother, Robert’s design flair has come in handy with his talent for decorating hotels and venues.

Together, Lulu and Robert present the brand Robb and Lulu - and the duo are about to bring the label to a special 'Market Week' event in Los Angeles on May 3, being held at the W Hotel, downtown Hollywood, where the brand will be viewed by the likes of uber-stylist Rachel Zoe, and major US media.

The designers will also set up a 'Pop Up Store' on from May 16-May 29, 2011, at The Workshop in Melbourne.
